Joey Renee McClary

Corresponding Secretary, Corrections Officer, Hudson County Corrections

Corporal Joey Renee McClary is a 21 year veteran of the Hudson County Corrections and Rehabilitation Department. My inspiration for getting into law enforcement came from my older sister Nina McClary, who is a retired police officer from the East Orange Police Department. I graduated from the Passaic County Police Academy, ranked in the top ten of 50 recruits. I also became the class Vice President. Some of my accomplishments were being involved with the hiring process of new applicants. I am always willing to help new officers and give them as much guidance as possible. I also served on the board as a union representative for PBA local 109. Lecturing and mentoring at risk youth is something I actively participate in and enjoy. I made an appearance on the Maury showing representing my department, and showing the youth that coming to jail is not a rode that they want to travel. My greatest accomplishment in my life has been my two sons, Ahmir and Rodney. Both of them are college graduates, I could not ask for two better sons. They are outstanding men.
